The One Where We Attend a Baseball Game

See we really were there!
Tickets and everything.
First off, I know that the list commands us to attend a spring training game. Spring training is like preseason football, almost worthless. So we decided to go to the real deal. Screw the list. It needed to be put in its place, to know who was really in charge.       List you may have a veritable army of items, but we have an edit button! Take that list!
Look at that beauty!
You wouldn't be able to resist either.
The game we chose to attend was the Sunday matinee between the Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers. Why? School, that's why. Weeknight games are not conducive to my schedule. Man, what a game. I wish my first Ray's game had been this good (Gilbert you lucky duck you). My man B.J. Upton mashed three homers (one on the first pitch(not that you could hit more than one on any given pitch, that would be cool, cool but weird)) and James Shields pitched a whale of a game, but the true star of the game was the Cubans we had (Which originated in Tampa, but don't quote me on that).

No, Gilbert there isn't any money inside.
On our way out of the stadium we found a giant piggy bank, and we couldn't resist ourselves we just had to have a picture.

One more item down.

1. Round Up

A USF Tradition. To attend "Round UP" at the Sun Dome. Now I don't how it's been in the past, and how many people usually attend this event, but I must say that I was incredibly lucky to get in line early enough to have ground level seats. This pep rally style event brought be back to the my old high school days, playing in the marching band and ridiculously dancing.

Then after two opening acts. Thats right two acts, that just kept rambling off the same jokes repeatedly, then came Mike Epps. Well lets just say he had no problem bashing the USF Football team, but not without kindly mentioning our promising Basketball team.

Lets not forget Judy Genshaft botching our school colors. Lets go green and yellow.

First WOW Event

We decided that a appropirate introductory event to attend was the so called "Campus Tradition," (complements of the WOW brochure). The "Late Night with Campus Recreation" is an array of physical contests and activites. Including dodgeball, zumba, ping pong, and tableing event for intramural sports (which served us well, to get us introduced to which sports teams we may join). We were excited to experience the newly remodeled recreation center and enjoyed a rousing game of what the chinese call ping pong. With a fierce forehand I was able to break down the defense of the 6 foot 2 inch beast that is Kris.

Kris in preparing for battle
Dodgeball was a different story. Because of an error of registration we had the privilege to absorb a few more team members only to be denied a second round berth. But there was .

We may be forced to forgo the more costly activities(designated by red text). We're hoping to trim a few items to get the list to 53 items. Why 53? Well that's a good question. ESPN3 Access on College Campus

My fellow college students, I am quite pleased to inform you that we all have the equal opportunity to receive access to ESPN3 even if your service provider isn't on the list. It is 100% legitimate and it doesn't cost a thing. This technique only works when you are on your university's internet services (Wifi or desktop) Here we go.

1. First you need to make a ESPN account using you USF(or whatever college you are enrolled in) email which ends in .edu.

2. Now verify your account using the automated email sent to you inbox.

3. Now enjoy. You have access to the live streaming games and matches whilst on campus. Now click on any live video feed and enjoy.

Just in time for Wimbledon

I came across this loop hole and thank god I'm enrolled so now me and my friends can enjoy all the best content.

When Nonslip Measures Backfire

For those of you who have anxiously awaiting this (If you really exist I would like to know), I am sorry that this post has taken me so long to get to. Allow me to defend myself as most of reasons for not writing this earlier are legitimate. First, well really the only important one is that I have professors this semester who feel like I don’t do enough of my homework on my own and feel it necessary to make us submit it for grading (I feel like my professors from last semester gave my current set of professors the “scoop”). Secondly, and this may seem like a trivial excuse (to the uninitiated), I have been catching up on second season of Community.
Okay enough excuses now down to the knitty gritty, this post was either going to be about crazy stalker squirrels or people falling on their butts. As I currently am lacking in the squirrel picture department (Spoiler alert: If any of you see a squirrel with a half moon shaped cut out on one of its ears please send me a picture it would be greatly appreciated) I decided to wait on that particular subject.
Allow me to paint you a mental portrait, imagine a young starry eyed transfer student the first day of classes at the Ginormous University (hah I love how auto correct thought this was an actual university name), with nary a clue on the intricacies of the campus.  And in midst of his awe he was stuck in the rain making a mad dash for the closest building.  To his chagrin what he thought was a non-slip surface really was a Venus flytrap for unwanting students which ends with him falling smack on his butt to the amusement of all the other students seeking shelter from the rain. Well most of this story is true. On my first day of class at USF as I waited out some rain under Cooper Hall and as people came running up the ramp to escape the rain, many slipped and fell. The surface was a non-slip kind but not “non-slippery” enough for this amount of rain combined with the angle of the ramp. The reason I remember this incident is as I walked by Cooper recently, I noticed that they have attempted to alleviate this problem with even more non-slip measures. If you can see in the photo the little black sandpaper strips these are the non-slip measures that I was talking about. Maybe this truly is to benefit the students, but it also deprives of us of literally minutes of free pratfall hilarity (Yes I have heard of YouTube).
